Houston Ultimate Community

HFL is a Coed Hat Tournament held in honor of a former teammate and friend to Houston Ultimate, Laura Powell Higgins. Laura was a prominent ultimate player who gave much to the growth of the sport in Houston and Texas. In December of 2002, she was murdered leaving behind her husband and daughter. Since then, every HFL has been in her honor, and each year a different local charity has been chosen to benefit from the proceeds of the tournament!

We are pleased that proceeds this year will benefit cancer research through the Livestrong Foundation and our dear friend Iram J. Leon. We have set a goal of $5000 for this year's tournament, please Click Here to Donate!!!!

LOCATION: George Bush Park, Houston TX South of I-10 and SH6 (Location Map)

Directions: I-10 West from Houston Center, South on HWY 6, West on Westheimer Rd, soccer fields located on left just past

FORMAT:

• HFL is a co-ed, outdoor hat tournament. Register as an individual and we'll draw names from a hat to form teams.
  We will play with 11th edition rules.

  You can expect to play 5 or 6 games. There will be pool play followed by bracket play.

  Bring a red and a white shirt.

REGISTRATION:

$25 = Individuals should sign up online today! Advance registration is “the greatest”!

$30 = Registration (and payment) can also be done in person the morning of the tourney.

• Game day registration will be allowed until 9:30am.
  Minors are allowed; however, no one under the age of 15 can play without a parent guardian present. Minors must have the waiver form signed by their parent/guardian.

  Pairs may request to play together in the comments of the registration form for the following circumstances:

  - Parents with child care responsibilities

  - Brand-new player and her/his recruiter

  - Lovers, not fighters

  We will attempt to honor these requests, but make no guarantees. Partner requests may not be granted so close to game time!
