The Houston Ultimate Community and Miss Red (Rice University Women's Ultimate) invite you to
Huckin' For Laura (HFL) 2008 Coed Hat Tournament

This is a Coed Hat Tournament held in honor of a former teammate and friend to Houston Ultimate, Laura Powell Higgins. Laura was a prominent ultimate player who gave much to the growth of the sport in Houston and Texas. In December of 2002, she was murdered leaving behind her husband, Darrell, and daughter, Sydney. Since then, every HFL has been in her honor.

We are pleased to announce that proceeds will benefit two great organizations this year:
--Miss Red, the Rice University Women’s Ultimate Team
--The Women's Home, helping women in crisis to become self-sufficient

**IMPORTANT!: On game day, all players must sign waiver and provide proof of medical insurance.**

*Parking is available in Greenbriar Lot (free) or in the Visitors parking (West Lot 1 - credit cards only).

FORMAT:
• HFL is a co-ed, outdoor hat tournament. Register as an individual and we'll draw names from a hat to form teams.
• We will play with 11th edition rules.
• You can expect to play 5 games. There will be 3 rounds of pool play, followed by bracket play.

REGISTRATION:
• Individuals should sign up online today! Advance registration is the greatest!

• Game day registration will be allowed until 9:00 am. These folks will be assigned to cleanup duty, and could miss part of round 1 as we assign teams. Signup early instead!

**IMPORTANT** Everyone who participates must sign a waiver on game day and be able to show or provide proof of medical insurance on the waiver form.

• Minors are allowed; however, no one under the age of 15 can play without a parent guardian present. Minors must have the waiver form signed by their parent/guardian either at game day check-in or in advance (contact TD for the forms).
• If you would like to play with someone, you can specify their name in the comments of the registration form. We cannot guarantee, but will attempt to honor these requests.

• Immediately following the tournament games at Valhalla on Rice University Campus.
• Please bring appropriate ID for adult beverages.
• An assortment of drinks and snacks will be available: sodas ($0.50), water, gatorade, beer ($1-2)
