Winter league is an opportunity for everyone to play ultimate. Whether you are just beginning to play ultimate or have been around long enough to be considered "crusty", whether you are the world's best athlete or are "losing" your knees, league wants you! See the Teaser video! |
We are excited to bring you a new pickup game on Thursdays. TIP (Thursday Indoor Pickup) is open to all interested players in Houston.
Never played Indoor Ultimate before? No problem - it's a quicker, fast-paced game with an 8 second stall count and 5v5 at a time. All your standard Ultimate rules apply. There's no wind, so throwing is easier and makes for some exciting play. Tennis shoes or turf shoes are a must (no cleats) and the field is smaller. Check out the map of the field, as well as rules for out of bounds.
Details are below:

Many Houston Ultimate players participated in Sectionals this past weekend in Austin with arguably the best showing that we have had since the glory Houndz years. Brangus came in as the number 13 seed coming into the weekend and placed 7th!!! If you see any of the players around, please congratulate them and cheer them on because this is just the first step in the Club series calendar. 2 weeks until regionals!
It may seem early to begin thinking about Winter League but it is really not far off. Just like last year Black Angus will be hosting the League.
This year there is a contest to come up with a theme and disc design. The winner will get a nice bag to carry all of their Ultimate gear.
It of course would be preferred if the disc design would be ready for discraft to print but if you are not capable of putting your design in a acceptable format not to worry. Send me the design anyway.
Deadline for submissions is September 18th so get busy if you are interested in winning that cool gear bag.
Thanks,Big thanks to everyone who came out for the hat tournament. Turnout was huge, with 10 teams and over 180 sign ups, this was one of Houston's biggest hat tournaments yet.
